Thank you's…

We did it! We collected $1030 for “Nothing But Nets.”  Despite the snow and cancellations, we exceeded our goal of $1000.

These free will offerings from our Lenten meals and services will provide mosquito nets to help prevent 103 African children from getting malaria. To learn more about this initiative, visit www.nothingbutnets.net. Way to go!

In Liz’s absence, we neglected to get some important thank-you notes into the newsletter.  Please accept my apology for the delay.  This was something I overlooked! Here they are, along with one or two we’ve received since then.

Thank you so much for the donation to the UMW Mission work in honor of our Mom.  She loved the Delhi church and her church friends.  I remember her gathering layettes for mission.

Thank you for remembering our mom.

May God bless all of you,

The Children of Phyllis Preitauer – Linda, Nancy, and Steve

How do we express in words, what your prayers and generosity has meant to our family.  It has been very humbling to ask so many for your prayers and we were so extremely grateful to all of you keeping Dan and his family in your prayers.  The very generous offerings, that have been sent our way have met us with great blessings.  We thank each and everyone of you.  God's work is always amazing.

Dan, Lana, Benjamin, Danielle, and Aveeon Drake

Thank you for thinking of our family during the Angel Food ministries.  The food was wonderful and could not have came at a better time.

Thank you again for your thoughtfulness,

The Deutmeyers – Josh, Jillian, Lexis, Landen, Leighton, and Lainey

The family of Etta Jean Vesey would like to thank everyone that offered their time, donations of food and comforting words in helping us deal with our loss.  Your kindness was a blessing in our time of sorrow.

                   Fondly,

                   Hank Vesey and family

“LOVE POURED OUT”

Ever since Jackie’s (Niehaus) Fund Raising Benefit, the phrase “love poured out” has been rumbling around in my head and heart. That is the only way I can think of to describe the loving, generous support of our communities and from this congregation. Jackie and Travis are not members of this congregation, yet you have rallied around our family and given us tremendous support.

I especially want to thank our church members for your generosity.  A couple members of DUMC were on the planning committee, many bars and pies came from this church, items were donated for the auction from some of you, many of you gave cash donations and I saw many of you at the benefit. Also, I had asked for prayers for good weather, and those prayers were pretty powerful! We could not have asked for better weather that weekend.

I believe the packed hall is a tribute to Travis and Jackie as a couple, but without love, that day would never have happened. The committee worked very, very hard out of love.  People contributed and bid high and bought out of love.  We as a family have felt surrounded by love ever since we got word the cancer was back. It is truly an amazing feeling to be the recipients of “love poured out.” You have been a reflection of Christ and His love poured out for all of us. We are so blessed and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Thank You

Thank you for the privilege and opportunity to fill in as secretary in Liz’s absence.  Thank you for not returning the bulletins with “red” highlights” to remind me of my short comings.

But most of all, thank you for sharing your Christian love and friendship for the short time I filled in.

“An Epidemic of Christian Love”

“I passed around the corner and someone smiled at me.

When I smiled, I realized he had passed his joy on to me.

I thought about his smile, then I realized its worth.

A single joyous smile could travel round the earth.

So, when we smile for Christ’s sake, we’ll not leave it undetected.  Let’s try to start an epidemic and get the whole world infected.”

                                                Thank you,

                                                Jackie Sherman

Thank you to everyone for helping to welcome Lucy into the world with your prayers, kind words, and gifts.  Our family is lucky to be a part of such a wonderful church.  Thank you especially to Kris Wilson for organizing the meals and to those who brought them out.  It is definitely comforting to know that so many people have reached out to us during this special time in our lives.

Also, thanks to the SPRC, Pastor Lorraine, and Jackie for being so understanding and cooperative during my maternity leave.  All of you made it easy for me to turn over the reins to Jackie, and she was a blessing to work with.  I look forward to coming back to work, and I can’t wait to introduce the newest addition to our family to those of you who have not met her yet.  Thank you all!

Blessings,

Liz, Justin, Russell, and Lucy Nieman

THANK YOU, beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, for all your expressions of love and support while I was having tests, and undergoing surgery.  Thank you for your prayers, for your phone calls, cards, meals, and all your concerns and offers of help during my recovery.  A special thank you to our “snow angel(s)” who keeps showing up to clear our driveway and ramp!  Each of you are greatly appreciated, for your care and giving.

                                                Pastor Lorraine

THANK YOU ... To all who are members and friends of our Delhi and Buck Creek United Methodist Churches, for the many ways in which you live out your faithfulness to your Lord and His church.  May we all continue to be loyal to our vows to support our churches through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service.

Thank you to the “secret” angels who keep appearing at the parsonage to shovel snow from the sidewalk and ramp.  Pastor Ken and I really appreciate your kindness and efforts!

                                      Pastor Lorraine and Pastor Ken

  THANK YOU

My brothers and sisters in Christ, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone, for your tremendous generosity at Christmas.  It is such a blessing to be appointed as pastor to churches who truly love and want to serve our Lord; and who take such good care of their pastor.  I pray that each of you has had a wonderful Christmas.  May Christ’s love enfold you, throughout the new year!

                                    Pastor Lorraine
